DPS responds to 109 criminal incidents from March 24 to 30

THE Department of Public Safety responded to 109 criminal incidents and 22 traffic-related cases from March 24 to 30.

According to the police blotter provided by DPS on Wednesday, of the 131 incidents, 69 were 911 service calls to the police. 

Ten individuals were arrested during the same period, DPS added.

Police responded to four assault incidents; one assault and battery incident; one assault with a dangerous weapon incident; six domestic violence incidents; 60 disturbing the peace incidents; three criminal mischief incidents; one illegal possession incident; eight burglary incidents; 23 theft incidents; and one sexual assault incident.

As for traffic-related cases, DPS said it responded to 10 auto runoff incidents; one auto parked vehicle incident; three auto hit-and-run incidents; one auto runoff roadway incident; one reckless driving incident; one driving under the influence incident; and three auto fixed object incidents.

DPS public information officer, Police Sgt. Fred Sato, said the statistics are based on calls made to 911 dispatchers and the responses from police officers. 

“All active criminal complaints are taken, then forwarded to our Criminal Investigation Bureau. All traffic-related incidents, including fatality reported crashes, are forwarded to our Highway Patrol Investigation units,” Sato added.
