KOROR (Island Times/Pacnews) — Palau is offering a $250 arrival incentive to Taiwanese visitors arriving on direct flights from Taoyuan in a bid to boost tourism.
The program, announced by the Palau Visitors Authority, applies to travelers arriving on China Airlines’ new weekly round-trip service between Taoyuan International Airport and Palau, which launches this month. The incentive will be available for all 13 flights scheduled between then and June 24.
Funding for the program comes from private donors and partners supporting Palau’s economic recovery, PVA said. The identities of the donors were not disclosed. A similar incentive was offered to Taiwanese tourists in 2022.
Visitors can claim their $250 at a PVA location, open from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. on weekdays. They will need to present their passport, boarding pass, digital flight ticket, and proof of accommodation.
