STOP the oversight investigation and fulfill your obligation as Representatives and Senators. It’s understandable that finding ways to prosecute people involved in the mismanagement of funds especially federal funds should rest on the federal prosecutor not the Legislature. I understand that it’s the duty of the attorney general and the court to bring this matter forward not the Legislature. Your duty is to find ways to make the CNMI a better place to live. No wonder a lot of our people have left the island for a better life.
Concentrate on the issues at hand such as tourism (bringing more tourists rather than conducting investigation will boost the economy and everyone will benefit), capital improvement projects (these will boost the collection of the government upon awarding of contracts — taxes will be paid and there will be more employment for our people), air transportation (bringing competitive companies to provide air transportation within the three main islands which will serve our people better rather than only one company), and grants (all the three main islands should be given the opportunity to receive grants not only one island). But grants will not be realized if all three islands do not contribute documentation. Rota and Tinian should be afforded a better landfill because both islands do not have the same option as Saipan does. Thank you.
Sincerely,
DEXTER APATANG
