AGAPE Christian School remains undefeated in the boys middle school division of the NMIVA-PSS Interscholastic Volleyball League SY23-24, notching two more wins at the Marianas High School gym on Thursday.
ACS, which now holds a 7-0 record, played two games that day. Its first opponent was Dandan Middle School, which couldn’t handle ACS’s constant pressure. ACS’s powerful spike finishes and defense caused havoc. Although DMS managed to break through with a few highlights of their own, they were eventually overwhelmed by ACS, who claimed the first set, 21-13.
More of the same was seen in the second set as ACS continued to gather points with ease, beating DMS, 21-12.
ACS’ second win came at the expense of Saipan Community School in two sets.
The first set saw both teams scoring points, but as the dust settled, ACS emerged triumphant, 21-15. They continued to ride the momentum throughout the second set, en route to trouncing SCS, 21-9.
ACS’ lineup consists of Daniel Yang, Raffy Cai, Danny Cheng, Reyviel Escarlan, Joseph Yang, Benny Li, Daniel Huang, Scott Shi, Benjamin Cai and Andy Chen.
Winners, too
Also victorious were Mount Carmel School, which defeated Tanapag Middle School, 24-22, 21-19, for their fifth win of the season; Chacha Oceanview Middle School, which outlasted Grace Christian Academy School, 21-12, 21-19; and Saipan International School, which powered past Hopwood Middle School, 21-12, 21-9.
