A MAN has sued the Rota Mayor’s Office for allegedly failing to pay three trucks purchased from him five years ago.
David R. Quitugua Sr. asked the Superior Court to order the Rota Mayor’s Office to pay him $26,000 in damages plus $11,385 interest.
The now Guam-based Quitugua, through attorney S. Joshua Berger, sued the Mayor’s Office for alleged breach of contract.
Variety contacted the island’s Mayor’s Office yesterday afternoon, but no one was available for comment.
Berger said in the complaint that on July 25, 1997, Quitugua and then Rota Mayor Joseph S. Inos entered into an agreement.
Through the deal, the mayor’s office purchased from Quitugua two fuel trucks and one tilt trailer. At that time, the plaintiff was staying on Rota.
“The amount of the contract was $26,000 with payment to have been made in full by Dec. 31, 1997,” the lawyer said. “Notwithstanding the terms of this agreement, no money has been repaid to plaintiff.”
