FORMER Northern Marianas College President Joaquin A. Sablan is back on campus but this time as dean of continuing education.
Sablan reported for work yesterday. He officially replaced Edward D. Camacho, who is now the commissioner of public safety.
“I’d love to be here at the college,” Sablan told Variety. He refused to give more details about his return.
As dean of continuing education, Sablan will oversee the following programs: Cooperative Research, Extension and Education Services; extended programs; workforce development; community programs; and Adult Basic Education.
CREES is involved in developing, testing, adapting and providing appropriate technical assistance to the people of the CNMI in areas related to animal and plant sciences.
Workforce development is focused on implementing training programs for public sector employees.
ABE provides continuing education for those who were not able to finish their basic education.
Sablan, 40, resigned as NMC president in March after serving the college for more than 18 years in various capacities. He was the college president during the past two years.
