ACTING Gov. Paul A. Manglona has signed legislation that will fund 18 projects and programs on Rota.
“This law would certainly help the island to provide better services to the public,” Manglona said.
House Local Bill 13-28, authored by Rep. Daniel O. Quitugua, is now Rota Local Law 13-2. It appropriates $142,000 from the local license fees for pachinko and poker machines on Rota.
The new law earmarks $15,000 for Rota’s economic and tourism promotional video production in coordination with the Marianas Visitors Authority; $25,000 for dialysis patients; and $10,000 for the agricultural fair.
Quitugua’s bill would also fund the Exemplary Teacher Awards which will go to the outstanding educators of Rota Elementary School, Rota Junior High School, Rota High School and Rota Head Start.
