KOROR (Palau Horizon) — On his recent official trip to South Korea, President Tommy Remengesau took time to visit Daewoo E&C headquarters in Seoul where he was briefed by the company’s top executives on Daewoo’s world-wide operation, and its work on the Babeldaob Compact Road Project.
Remengesau said he deeply appreciated the warm welcome he received at Daewoo’s headquarters.
“The cordial and impressive gestures of respect and friendliness I received at Daewoo in Seoul were, in truth, meant for the people and the Republic of Palau, and I was proud to be there to accept them on their behalf,” Remengesau said.
The president was given a grand tour through Daewoo facilities and was shown visual presentations of the company’s domestic and overseas projects. He said the size and strength of the company impressed him very much.
“Daewoo is a very large company with thousands and thousands of employees. It’s annual domestic and overseas projects are worth more than our entire annual budget, and it enjoys a world-wide reputation for excellence in construction and engineering work,” Remengesau said.
“I was particularly pleased by Daewoo’s assurance that they would do their utmost effort to complete the Compact Road project successfully,” Remengesau said.
