MPU Pink’s Kimberly Palacios pushes forward after slipping past a Latte FC defender during a novice division game of the Dove Women’s League 2024 at the NMI Soccer Training Center in Koblerville on Sunday.
MP United Football Club Pink kicked off the novice division of the Dove Women’s League with a victory against Latte Football Club 2, 4-2, at the NMI Soccer Training Center in Koblerville on Sunday.
It was a fairly even match as both teams filled the first 10 minutes with back-and-forth action. Eventually, MPU Pink won the battle for the possession and made full use of the opportunity as they moved the ball through the cracks of LFC 2’s defensive walls and found Leilighschigh Rasiang open for the kill to grasp the lead, 1-0, at the 14th minute mark.
MPU Pink’s Kimberly Palacios then seized the spotlight as she slithered through defenders to find the back of the net with ease.
LFC 2 finally earned a goal thanks to Ronalyn Mangali at the 34th minute mark to cut the lead, 1-2, at the end of the opening half.
Unfortunately, LFC 2 failed to keep the momentum burning in the second half as their defensive line fell apart, allowing MPU Pink’s Pernalynn Camacho and Rasiang to extend the deficit with a goal each at the 43rd and 50th minute marks, 4-1.
Although LFC 2’s Mangali returned the favor with a goal at the 54th minute mark, it was not enough and they had to accept defeat at the hands of MPU Pink, 2-4.
Winners too
Joining the winner’s circle were Shirley’s Football Club with a 3-1 win over Kanoa Football Club, and Latte FC against Paire Football Club via forfeit.
