CHARLOTTE, N.C (TNS) — All of the patients who were admitted to Children’s Mercy Hospital following the mass shooting at the Kansas City Chiefs victory rally Wednesday have been discharged, the hospital said Saturday.
The hospital took in 12 patients after the shooting that wounded at least 39 people and killed one. Of those, at least 23 people suffered from gunshot injuries. Children’s Mercy said everyone they treated, including 9 children who had been shot, should make a full recovery.
“Thank you for your support and grace with our team members this past week,” spokesperson Marlene Bentley said in a statement Saturday.
University Health (formerly Truman Medical Center) said three shooting victims are still in the hospital’s care. One of its gunshot victims remains in critical condition as of Saturday morning, while the other two are improving, the hospital said. The hospital had treated 12 patients with shooting-related injuries: eight with gunshot wounds and four with other injuries.
Lisa Lopez-Galvan, a 43-year-old mother of two and popular party disc jockey, died on the grounds of Union Station soon after she was hit by gunfire.
Two juveniles were charged Friday in relation with the shooting.
The two teens are being held at the Juvenile Detention Center, and the Jackson County Circuit Court wrote in a statement Friday that additional charges are expected as the investigation continues.
