Feds to conduct presentation on grants

SEVERAL federal officials will arrive by the end of the month to assist the commonwealth in sourcing grants.

Officials from the offices of Rural Development, Housing, and Urban Development, the Economic Development Administration and the Small Business Administration will arrive here on May 31 to conduct a presentation on various programs and grants available from their offices, according to Robert Schwalbach, senior policy advisor of the administration.

“It will keep us abreast of the status of the various grants available,” Schwalbach told Variety.

Commonwealth Development Authority Executive Director Maria Lourdes S. Ada, in a memorandum issued to the different departments and activity heads, said the presentation will be conducted at CDA’s conference room on May 31 from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m.

Gov. Juan N. Babauta also issued a memorandum urging all department and program managers to attend the presentation.

The governor said it is an “important conference” for the commonwealth, since experts from various federal agencies will cover “several topics of interest.”
