GOVERNOR Juan N. Babauta has not yet indicated whether he would re-appoint Commonwealth Ports Authority Chairman Roman S. Palacios, whose term expires next month.
With barely a few days remaining before June, Palacios is “anxious because he does not know whether he would be re-appointed,” a CPA official, who declined to be identified, said. “His term expires in June but there’s no signal yet whether he would remain there or not.”
The chairman has not set any schedule for a CPA board meeting. The last regular meeting was held in April.
CPA Executive Director Carlos H. Salas had sent a letter to the governor informing him about the approaching expiration of Palacios’s term.
“But there’s no response so far,” the source said.
Palacios tendered his courtesy resignation to Babauta last January, but the governor rejected it.
