MPU, Kanoa lead U14 boys soccer

MP United and Kanoa football clubs currently share the top spot in the U14 boys division of the 2024 TakeCare Youth Soccer League with three wins apiece after beating their respective opponents at the NMI Soccer Training Center in Koblerville on Saturday.

MPU silenced Paire Football Club, 9-0, while Kanoa outlasted Latte Football Club, 3-0.

Against PFC, MPU’s skills were simply superior as each player on the field posed a scoring threat. After controlling the possession, it only took six minutes before Quido Jambor lit up the scoreboard with the opening goal. Teammate Landon Springer scored their second goal at the ninth minute mark to extend the deficit, 2-0.

Although PFC adjusted their defensive strategy, MPU still wore them down with Taiga Namai-Scoggins joining the onslaught at the 12th minute mark while Jambor squeezed in his second goal at the 26th to widen their lead, 4-0.

The second half  solidified MPU’s dominance. Jambor and Namai-Scoggins each completed the hat-trick while Theo Joab and Mateo Angeles delivered two more goals before putting PFC out of its misery, 9-0.

Kanoa vs Latte

Kanoa Football Club had a tougher match against Latte Football Club but still emerged victorious, 3-0, thanks to Ronald Manabat, who scored all of his team’s goals.

Joining the celebration was Matansa Football Club, which is now in third place, after collecting its second win of the season against Shirley’s Football Club, 8-0. Eleazir Mettao led the scoreboard with three goals while Zhi Jin had two.
