BEST Deal notched another win in the Legends Sports Association Invitational Basketball League Season 2 after gunning down Yuman, 90-84, at the TSL Sports Complex on Sunday.

Yuman was eager to earn their first win of the season and it showed in the opening half of the game.

Joemar Agustine and Eric Nuyles acted as the sparkplug for Yuman, scoring six and seven points, respectively. At the other end, Best Deal went for the more aggressive approach with Jeffrey Victoria drawing a handful of fouls and chipping in points from the charity line. Ronald Rueda and Jonel Palima later joined the offensive run from beyond the arc with a barrage of three-pointers, but these were matched by a series of triples by Yuman, which maintained control, 48-45.

The battle continued throughout the second half with the focus shifting to defensive stops.

Although Yuman continued to thrive with Carl Aldan and Justine Enano taking over the spotlight, their turnovers prevented them from gaining distance. With each successful stop, Best Deal gradually worked their way to snatch the lead.

Toward the last five minutes of the game, Best Deal gained some breathing room thanks to two clutch triples by Jeter Medina. Yuman fought back and delivered a couple of buckets, but Medina connected another triple to maintain the safe distance.

Yuman was forced to foul in order to stop the clock while Best Deal continued to deliver on the other end en route to their second win of the season, 90-84.

Kagbros vs Napa

Joining the winner’s circle was Kagbros, which dismantled Napa Auto Parts, 85-58.

In the first half, both teams traded three-pointers, but it was Kagbros’ inside game that gave them the slight edge going into halftime, 32-30.

As the second half progressed, fatigue started to affect Napa Auto Parts. Kagbros applied constant pressure defense, which forced Napa Auto Parts to commit turnovers that were turned into made baskets on the other end, thanks to Zach Babauta and Tom Santos as Kagbros sealed the deal, 85-58.
