Kanoa’s Risty Vergara secures the possession during a 2024 Marianas Soccer League 2 game at the NMI Soccer Training Center in Koblerville.
KANOA Football Club sits at the top of the food chain in the 2024 Marianas Soccer League 2 after notching their second consecutive win by blanking Shirley’s Football Club, 5-0, at the NMI Soccer Training Center in Koblerville on Friday last week.
KNFC’s well-rounded roster was their biggest asset as every player on the field posed an offensive threat. It did not take long for the team to set the pace as they blew through the defense, allowing Fradel Sedillo to find the back of the net just four minutes into the opening half.
SFC recovered and closed the cracks on their defensive walls. But KNFC’s continuous pressure was still too much for Shirley’s to handle as Kanoa’s Carl Salas took over the highlight reel with a pair of goals to stretch the gap before halftime, 3-0.
SFC returned to the second half ready to turn the tables, but they could not deliver. KNFC, for their part, continued their dominance with Irish Pagarao scoring at the 71st minute mark while Salas delivered his third goal eight minutes later to seal the deal, 5-0.
On Sunday, KNFC drew with Hana Football Club, 0-0, while Matansa Football Club defeated Shirley’s Football Club, 2-0.
