MARIANAS High School and Kagman High School are leading the boys high school division of the IT&E Interscholastic Basketball League SY23-24 after earning their second straight win at the Ada gym on Friday.

MHS overcame Saipan Southern High School, 53-43.

In the first half, MHS was in control thanks to the reliable shooting of Sean Licayan. MHS worked to create several shot opportunities for the long-ranged gunner as he knocked down a total of four triples while teammates Kenny Laquian and Marl Balingnasay delivered a bucket each.

SSHS tried to balance the scales by constantly attacking the lanes led by Slymark Defang and Rasg Andon, and trailed by just two possessions at halftime, 24-28.

More of the same was seen throughout the second half.

Heman Addy joined Andon on the offensive line, but with every shot SSHS made, MHS had an answer on the other end. Khristian David also contributed a few highlights while Licayan and Laquian continued to rain down three-pointers to solidify MHS’ victory, 53-43.

KHS vs MCS

Kagman High School notched their second win at the expense of Mount Carmel School, 47-27.

KHS worked well as a team throughout the entire game. Frankie Satur and Angelo Igitol orchestrated the onslaught, scoring six points each while Myles Techur and Justin Camacho took over the last few minutes of the first half to give KHS a comfortable lead, 30-17.

With only Lance Lerio able to penetrate, MCS  trailed further behind while KHS eased their way to their second straight win.

Agape Christian School clinched a win as well by trouncing Grace Christian Academy, 50-27.
