The Lady Blue Jays’ Angel Deleon Guerrero pitches against Lady SUFA during a ladies division game of the 2024 Budweiser Belau Amateur Softball Association League at the Dandan baseball field.
THE Lady Blue Jays notched their second victory in the 2024 Budweiser Belau Amateur Softball Association League by outlasting Bat & Boojie, 3-2, at the Dandan baseball field on Sunday.
It was a slow start for both teams as defense highlighted the first three innings when neither team scored. Bat & Boojie pitcher Janice Celis recorded a handful of strikeouts while the Lady Blue Jays matched up defensively.
After turning over the top of the fourth with three consecutive outs, the Lady Blue Jays’ Kiana Aldan connected a triple and was then brought home safely thanks to Kiana Camacho’s single, which earned her an RBI and gave her team the lead. Teammate Kiana Camacho then followed up with a two-run homer in the bottom of the sixth to make it 3-0.
In the top of the seventh and final inning, Bat & Boojie’s Kenisha Mario’s two-RBI single brought home Rosie Saralu and Janica Iguel to reduce the gap, 2-3.
Bat & Boojie had the chance to even the score with one out and one runner on third, but the Lady Blue Jays were able to snag two straight outs to secure the win.
Joining the winner’s circle were BDE, which slipped past the 670 Magas Babes, 14-13; and Lady SUFA, who routed the Boleras, 11-1.
