
THE woman who was severely injured in an assault incident on Thursday passed away at 8:01 p.m. Monday at the hospital, Department of Public Safety Sgt. Fred Sato said on Monday.
There are no further updates in the case as the investigation continues, added Sato, the DPS public information officer.
DPS is still trying to determine the motive behind what has now become a double homicide case that occurred in a Fina Sisu apartment.
DPS launched a homicide investigation on Thursday after an unresponsive male and an injured female were found in their apartment bedroom on Hagamham Lane at the corner of Tun Joaquin Doi Road.
According to DPS, they were a couple and long-time, legal residents of Saipan. The man was an electrician, and the woman was a private school teacher. Both were green-card holders.
DPS said it will not release the identity of the victims pending notification of kin.
