CAIA & Co. in Garapan offers toys for your little angels — and a lot more.
Owned by Weston and Christina Deleon Guerrero, Caia & Co. opened in April 2022 to bring a variety of infant and children’s items to the island.
On the ground floor of Tun Kiku Building, right next to Herman’s Bakery, near the intersection of Middle Road and Garapan St., you’ll find a charming store staffed by the ever-helpful and knowledgeable Annie and Alma.
Caia & Co.’s products range from essential newborn and toddler items such as stylish outfits for boys and girls, to educational toys, which include a variety of playthings that cater to a child’s social-emotional learning needs while supporting proper development.
One of the items that can be found only at Caia & Co. are the Hugimals. These are special plush toys that provide a child (and an adult, too) with a calming hug. Hugimals are research-supported toys that stimulate a relaxation response from the parasympathetic nervous system, which helps a child feel comforted.
Hugimals come in different colors and “species.”
The owners of Caia & Co said they want to provide items that are more than your traditional toys, and “something that we would let our own kids play with.”
“These toys encourage creativity and help develop the kids’ motor and problem-solving skills,” Weston and Christina said. “We attended a convention last September, which opened our eyes to a lot of educational toys as well as social-emotional learning toys, which have been popular among various daycares and schools.”
These toys encourage self-awareness, self-management, social awareness, responsible decision-making skills, and relationship skills through hands-on play and exploration.
