GOVERNOR Arnold I. Palacios has approved House Local Bill 23-28, which re-appropriates $61,448 for the Rota Mayor’s Office and the Rota Legislative Delegation.

Authored by Rep. Julie Ogo, the measure is now Rota Local Law 23-8.

Its funding sources are the Rota Scholarship Foundation Reserve Account and what’s left of Rota’s share of the exclusive casino license fee that Imperial Pacific International paid in 2019.

The new law appropriates $40,000 to the Rota Mayor’s Office and $21,448 to the Rota Legislative Delegation.

According to R.L.L. 23-8, these funds “are strictly local funds, for the First Senatorial District [Rota], not general funds. Therefore, this re-appropriation of the local funds is not part of the Fiscal Year 2024 Budget Act.”
