TONY Deleon Guerrero has earned his title of Saipan Golf Association’s November Ace of the Month after scoring a low gross score of 71 during last Sunday, December 6, of the SGA monthly ace of the Month tournament held at the Loaloa Bay Golf Resort West Course.
Deleon Guerrero was in total control as he attempted every swing with precision to stay ahead of the competition, completing the front nine with a gross of 42. He only improved during the back nine with more birdies and par-saving plays to lowers his gross score to 38 for a total of 87. Thanks to a handicap of 16, Deleon Guerrero’s net score was reduced to 71 to grasp the first place seat.
May’s Ace of the Month, Das Krishnan, actually had another stellar performance as he topped the charts at first place. Scoring a gross of 41 at the front nine and 38 in the back nine for a total 84, his handicap of 13 brought down his net score to 71 for the overall first place seat. However, as an ace, he had the privilege of handing the title to Deleon Guerrero.
Coming in at 3rd place was Jung Eun Taeck, February’s Ace. He struggled at first with a front nine gross of 49 but bounced back with a score of 39 in the back to hold a total of 88. Supported by a handicap of 14, his net score was brought down to 74 to secure his seat.
In the side events, the Closest to the Pin award was handed to Frances Sablan for hole #3, Das Krishnan on hole #13, and Rick Kautz at hole #17.
The Longest Drive award was taken by Rene on hole #2 and Juan “Pan” Guerrero on hole #18.
Tony Deleon Guerrero now joins his club mates/fellow Aces Ed Manibusan (January), Jung Eun Teack (February), Nick Sablan (March), Juan “Pan” Guerrero (April), Das Krishnan (May), Larry Deleon Guerrero (June), Steve Balakrishna (July), Ed Sablan (August), John “Nanni” Cruz (September), and Alex Tudela (October).
The next SGA Ace of the Month Tournament for December will be played at Kingfisher Golf Links Course on December 20, 2020, Sunday. Tee time is at 9:00 am with a show time of 8:30 am.
