“Giving back to the community is what we intend to do as we are offering a first come first serve basis to parents who wish to take advantage of this free program for our local students,” said Wayne Pangelinan, LISS director.
“Slots for students are capped and we are encouraging our local families to take advantage of what we are offering, but parents must act now and contact the school as some restrictions do apply,” Pangelinan added.

Tinian Republicans host gathering for Tenorio
(Tinian Republican Party) — On Saturday, May 17, the Tinian Republican Party Association hosted a gathering at Tachogna Beach in honor of Pedro A. Tenorio, the CNMI Washington representative, upon the creation of a seat in the U.S. House of Representatives for a CNMI delegate.
Newly elected president of the CNMI Republican Party Association Edward Tenorio, former Reps. Manny A. Tenorio and Ana S. Teregeyo joined Ramon M. Dela Cruz, president of the Tinian Republican Party Association, 1st vice president Edward Shai, 2nd vice president Tony SN. Borja, secretary Carmen Quitugua Dela Cruz and treasurer Gabriel Evangelista in congratulating and thanking the Washington representative for his many years of service to the CNMI and the diligence with which he pursued a delegate seat for the people of the commonwealth.
Dela Cruz talked about the many years of service Washington Representative Tenorio has given to the people of the CNMI, particularly in the arena of federal-territorial relations, beginning with the Covenant negotiations, implementation of the Covenant technical agreement, and ongoing negotiations, both as a lt. governor and as Washington representative.
He also encouraged the crowd to sign Tenorio’s nominating petition, the Open Government initiative proposed by Rep. Tina Sablan, and registration forms for the Republican Party.
The Washington representative spoke at length about how the position of delegate to Congress will play a vital role in coordinating the implementation of new federal regulations that are being made applicable to the CNMI.
“Most important for the people of Tinian, it will mean that we will have a delegate in Congress capable of helping the people of Tinian cope with the movement of Marines to Tinian,” Tenorio said.
“Pete A.,” as he is popularly known, spent the rest of the afternoon walking through the crowd and answering questions posed by the approximately 300 people who visited the event throughout the day.
