‘I ask him whether he was being honest when he said he’s going to sue me,” Reyes told Variety.
Reyes said he is looking forward to the lawsuit so he can defend himself in the court.
Cruz threatened to sue Reyes for disclosing that the Taotao Tano leader sought a government job from the administration.
Cruz maintained that he never submitted a job application.
In a separate interview yesterday, Cruz said he is still getting information from the Office of the Personnel Management.
“He’s stalling time just to divert the issue to less important matters,” Cruz said, referring to Reyes.
He said the press secretary should “concentrate on the rehabilitation of power and stop covering up for this administration.”
Reyes said Cruz admitted that he applied for a Commonwealth Utilities Corp. position two years ago.
He said Cruz submitted his resume via e-mail and asked for a job.
Cruz, he added, may be just “bluffing” when he threatened to file a libel case against him.
“I am still waiting to be sued because I like to go to court and entertain this if he wants to go forward,” he said.
Reyes said Cruz was not defamed and there is nothing inherently defamatory about applying for a job.
“Mr. Cruz should stop bluffing — stop talking about a libel lawsuit, and start filing one. I am not worried. He has no case,” Reyes said.
