Annamae Adaza is new president of Bayani Association

(Press Release) — The Bayani or Heroes Association inducted its new set of officers on Dec. 20, 2020 at the Philippine Honorary Consulate Support Office-CNMI at the Sun Palace Hotel.

Philippine Honorary Consul Glicerio DM Arago was the inducting officer.

Annamae Adaza is the new president of Bayani, one of the largest non-profit community organizations in the CNMI.

The other officers are vice president Yolanda de Ramos, secretary Marie Paz Meister, treasurer Ladyvir Canape, auditor Mario Mayuga, public information officer Teogenes Mendoza, safety officers Ronald de Ramos, Jaime del Peralta and Rogelmar Dagahoya.

The board members are Leonila Mendoza, Nelida Atalig, Ladyvir Canape, Mario Mayuga, Marie Paz Meister, Lolita Velasco, Ronald de Ramos, Fernando Enano and Annamae Adaza.

In her acceptance speech, Bayani Association president Annamae Adaza said, “We are the backbone of this organization and I encourage everyone to continue to serve the community, support each other, and always offer a helping hand.”

In his special remarks, Honorary Consul Arago said Bayani is a successful organization because of “the strength of its members’ unity.”

“On this very special evening,” he said, “I see and feel the strength of your unity as an organization. Your camaraderie is a testament to how Bayani has been active in our community throughout the years. Your organization has also extended great assistance to our consular mobile outreach.”

He added, “During this pandemic, it is also important that we take good care of our health and well-being so we can do more for our community.”

Outgoing Bayani president Leonila Mendoza was honored for her work and was presented with a certificate of appreciation.

In her brief remarks, Mendoza expressed appreciation for the support of her fellow members during her tenure, adding that “even during the pandemic, we were able to assist the needy.”

Mayuga, for his part, noted that Bayani  is the first organization to hold an induction ceremony at the Philippine Honorary Consulate Support Office-CNMI.

The induction ceremony was followed by a Christmas party at Pepoy’s Restaurant on Beach Road in Chalan Kanoa with Mayuga  as master of ceremonies.
