This year’s Educational Scholarship Fund awardees are Anita Hofschneider, a graduate of Marianas Baptist Academy who will be attending Harvard University; Leticia Cabrera from Mount Carmel School who will be attending George Washington University; Jeong Jyun Kwon from Marianas Baptist Academy who will be attending the University of Illinois; Caroline Lochabay from Saipan International School who will be attending University of Texas at Austin; Angela Salas from Mount Carmel School who will be attending Chaminade University of Honolulu; and Wen Hui Ye from Northern Marianas Academy who will be attending the University of California in Berkeley.
Each of the six scholars will receive $1,500 to help defray the education costs for their post-secondary education.
The selection committee was composed of chamber president Jim Arenovski, vice president Harry Blalock and secretary Kathryn Barry.
“It had been a tough job screening all the applicants who were highly qualified before we finally settled for the six recipients for this year,” Arenovski said.
