Superior Court Associate Judge Wesley Bogdan imposed a $5,000 cash bail for Borja’s release.

Borja at the bail hearing last Dec. 17 was represented by the public defender’s office, while the government was represented by assistant attorney general Samantha Vickery.

After the hearing, Borja was remanded back to the custody of the Department of Corrections and was ordered to return to court on Dec. 23, at 9 a.m. for preliminary hearing and arraignment on Jan. 5 at 9 a.m.

According to the complaint and supporting affidavit of probable cause filed by detective Steven N. Dela Cruz Jr., Borja’s wife confronted an elderly about the land he was giving away for free to a family member.
