On behalf of the NMI, I apologize…that you were either misinformed by your own family about the NMI or that you are suffering from a severe case of displacement. Tell me where to send the bouquet of flowers and the get-well card.
I apologize…that my grandfather, a Saipan native, watched his relatives get butchered while standing in line for his own beheading in Marpi for NOT collaborating with the Japanese. There is an informative museum on World War II on Saipan that tells you of the horrible things the Japanese did to the Chamorros in the NMI. They took control of the NMI right after Germany, while Guam was under U.S. Navy control for the most part. What does your Guamanian family know of the hardships Saipanese Chamorros had to face or the rest of the Marianas for that matter?
I apologize…that you, as a Guamanian and like so many other Guamanians owe the rest of the Marianas an apology for your ridiculous accent. So many Guamanians cry out against so-called American colonialism while speaking in the most haole-accented Chamorro I have ever heard in my life on top of shamelessly holding out hands for government funds.
I apologize…that your island is desperately trying to reinvent Chamorro culture that resembles a bootleg Hawaiian luau for mainland tourists. It’s truly a pitiful site when you have to add circles above your vowels so your young Guamanian Chamorros know how to pronounce a word. Even after that, it still is not done properly.
I apologize…that Guam envies the rest of the Marianas after years of opportunism and exploitation of U.S. handouts that resulted in cultural and linguistic abandonment. Your displacement of apology is a loud cry of an inferiority complex. It is Guam’s fault that you’re desperate. The rest of the Marianas, despite current economic problems, never skipped a beat in regards to culture and language.
I apologize…that you appear totally unaware that Guam is the laughing stock of the Marianas.
I apologize…for your lack of consciousness, as you would have to be in a coma not to realize that Guam has been at fault for so many things in addition to your grave insult to all those in the NMI who suffered at the hands of the Japanese both living and dead.
I apologize…that even though you’ve fully admitted to being from Yona, your pompous soapbox banter has “outed” you as yes, a Guamanian. No other island but Guam is filled with such stifling self-importance, entitlement, identity confusion, and insecurity. Your words reek of Guam.
So there is your apology. That is all you deserve from the NMI and thank you for your botched lesson on inter-island diplomacy. I’m sure many NMI Chamorros appreciated your verbal defecation on the graves of our World War II casualties and survivors.
