Saipan ‘Toys for Tots’ campaign in motion during Christmas season

Selfless giving is even more important during years of hardship, which is why the Saipan Toys for Tots or T4T Campaign is eager to fill the gaps and needs of the community in a way by bringing joy to the homes of children across the island with a new or unwrapped toy for those experiencing hard times this season.

Spearheaded by the Associated Students of the Northern Marianas College in collaboration with the Saipan Chamber of Commerce, Saipan Young Professionals, and U.S. Marine Corps, our Saipan T4T program is halfway through its collection season. Saipan T4T Partners have stepped up to collect toys and monetary donations for toy purchases to support children in the CNMI this year.

Mobil Marianas recently made a $1,500 donation to the 2020 “Toys for Tots” program. The “Toys for Tots” campaign is a charitable initiative hosted by the U.S. Marine Corps Reserve that provides toys to disadvantaged children during the Christmas holiday season. This year’s program is spearheaded by the Associated Students of Northern Marianas College and the Saipan Chamber of Commerce’s Saipan Young Professionals. NMC photo

Toys 4 Tots partner Mobil Marianas shared why they made a $1,500 monetary donation to the 2020 campaign. “With Covid-19, 2020 has been a difficult year for our community, our Mobil operators wanted to support the Toys 4 Tots program this year to make sure that families, especially children, can feel the holiday spirit despite the many things that are happening right now.”

Additionally, T4T partner CNMI Bar Association explained why they made a $500 monetary donation this season: “In past years, the CNMI Bar Association celebrated the holidays with an annual holiday party for its members. In light of everything, the CNMI community has gone through this year, the Bar Association elected to forego their annual holiday party and instead use the funds to spread some holiday cheer to the children by giving this donation to Toys for Tots.”

Saipan Young Professionals and the Associated Students of the Northern Marianas College are thankful for the continuous donations and support of our private and government partners.

Since October, the campaign has managed over 30 Toys for Tots Partner drop-off locations around the island. These partners are: Assurance Brokers; Atkins Kroll; Bank of Guam; Bank of Saipan; BankPacific; Bridge Capital; Bubba Gump; Calvo’s Insurance; Club 88; CNMI Homeland Security & Emergency Management; CNMI Mayor’s Office; Fiesta Resort; First Hawaiian Banks; Gold’s Gym; Great Harvest; Hyatt Regency Saipan; Jesus Is Lord Church; Latte Built Gym; Lollipops; McDonalds of Saipan; Mobil Stations; Northern Marianas College; Pacifica Insurance; Payless Superfresh & Truckload Store, Pena House; Saipan Seventh Day Adventist School; MP Holdings- Saipan Vegas; Shirley’s Coffee Shop; Surf Club Saipan; Surfrider Hotel; Take Care Insurance; Tan Siu Lin Foundation; Tribe Marianas; and Triple J Motors,
