Covid-19 task force discourages Christmas caroling

TO avoid possible exposure or infection, Covid-19 Task Force Chairman Warren Villagomez is discouraging Christmas caroling at worksites and offices.

Health experts believe that singing in public is one of the fastest ways to spread the Covid-19 virus, he said during the governor’s media briefing on KKMP Friday.

He noted that Christmas carolers can neither observe social-distancing nor wear face masks while singing.

In addition, carolers move from one area to another without anyone taking their temperatures or listing their names and phone numbers for contact tracing purposes.

“If infection happens, they will quickly move from one area to another,” Villagomez said, adding that the task force will provide more safety information to community members.

He is asking  community members to cooperate, saying he does not want to penalize anyone.

Villagomez said the task force will soon come up with an announcement discouraging Christmas caroling and the penalties to be imposed on violators.
