Bayani Association provides care packages to low-income families in Philippines

(Press Release) —  On Dec. 23, 2020, the Bayani or Heroes Association of the CNMI, in collaboration with Jesus Saves Pentecostal Church in Bae, Laguna province, south of Manila, the Philippines, distributed care packages as Christmas presents to low-income families.  The care package included ingredients for spaghetti, canned goods and toys for kids.

Bayani Association immediate past president  Leonila Mendoza said Christmas is a time for giving and sharing. “Seeing those kids smile means a lot to us so I would like to thank to all the Bayani members for their generosity, she said.

Bayani is grateful to the volunteers who initiated the distribution of the care packages: Chito and Lhiza Corral, Elmer and Alice Suelto,  Ean and Sheryll Gutierrez, Rose and Hannah Lucillo,  Joseph Lucillo, Freddie and Vene Buen, Louie Susana Jhun and May Corral.

“Special thanks also to Ms Anna Mercado who coordinated with the group in the Philippines to help distribute the donations,” Mendoza said.

Bayani’s new officers for the year 2021 are president Annamae Adaza, vice president Yolanda de Ramos, secretary Marie Paz Meister, treasurer Ladyvir Canape, auditor Mario Mayuga, public information officer Teogenes Mendoza, safety officers Ronald de Ramos, Jaime del Peralta, and Rogelmar Dagahoya.
