THE Kings of The Game Season 1 has finally kicked off last Saturday at the Agape Christian School’s new basketball court where 16 chosen players went head-to-head in a 1-on-1 match for the title of King of the Game.
National players like Coby Santos, Dean Blake, Preston Basa and Douglas Schmidt were called up to take on the challenge. The other 12 players completing the best 16 were recreational league stars such as Mak Mintac, Darwin Barbo, Joe Sablan, Matt Duenas, Fred Pelisamen, Jeff Castro, Jaymark De Guzman, Kelvin Fitial, Richard McWilliams, Arnold Arellano, Stephene Erdene and Josh Andrews.
Douglas Schmidt, Mak Mintac, Douglas Schmidt and Coby Santos were amongst the crowd favorites as their unique skills proved superior but the rest of the players did not fret giving it their all in the 1-on-1 battle. It was a different type of game as each of them had to pull out all the tricks from their bag to triumph. Kings of the Game is the first ever 1 on 1 basketball tournament in the marianas. It will also be the first locally made Youtube series about basketball. Marianas International Basketball League, in partnership with IT&E, launched the Kings of The Game as a platform to show the world our local basketball scene and also promote the marianas at the same time. The tournament was played on December 12 but fans will have to watch the whole tournament broken down into 5 episodes with the first 1 being launched on December 18 at 5:00 pm in the Marianas International Basketball League Youtube channel.
