Forum on federalization set for Saturday

Irene Tantiado, Coalition of United Workers (NMI) president, yesterday said they will be expecting no less than 500 workers to attend the gathering that will be held at the Saipan Community Church in Susupe.

“We expect to hear about the immigration status of nonresident workers under the federalization law,” she told Variety.

The forum on Saturday will start at 8:30 in the morning and will end at 12 noon.

Aside from Benedetto, the other guest speakers are the Philippine Consulate General Office team headed by Consul General Wilfredo DL. Maximo and Guam-based businessman Alfredo Antolin.

Tantiado said the forum on Saturday is the first in a series of gatherings initiated by the Coalition of United Workers (NMI).

The coalition will also schedule forums for the Chinese, Korean, Bangladeshi and Nepalese communities.

Admission is free, Tantiado said.
