In his testimony during the public hearing conducted by the Senate Committee on Executive Appointments and Government Investigation, Rosario said it was critical for NMHC to have a functioning board because “there are actions and decisions that may require the board’s approval.”
He expressed his support for the confirmation of Vinney Atalig Hocog of Rota and Eric Reyes of Tinian.
Rosario said he has worked with Hocog who has served on the Commonwealth Development Authority board, which also served as the NMHC board when NMHC was still under CDA.
He told the senators that Hocog displayed “passionate and strong leadership and is a man of a few words.”
“He speaks through his actions and has always provided support to NMHC key management in getting the job done,” Rosario said, adding that NMHC needs Hocog on its board so that there will be continuity.

As for Reyes, Rosario said, “from what I am hearing from testimonies made thus far, this gentleman has an impeccable and impressive background, namely on his volunteerism and service to the public.”
Rosario said he believes Reyes will be a great addition to the NMHC board.
In September, Gov. Ralph DLG Torres signed the executive order separating NMHC from CDA.
Also on Friday, the senators heard favorable testimonies for the appointments of Jocelyn T. King to represent Tinian and Michael S. Sablan of Saipan on the CDA board.
The EAGI Committee is chaired by Sen. Frank Cruz of Tinian.
