The resolution expresses pride and joins the university community in celebrating the investiture of Dr. Borja-Enriquez.
It also applauds her 30-year career at the university as its senior vice president and provost, and the first CHamoru dean of the UOG School of Business and Public Administration for 10 years prior to taking on the helm as its president.
The resolution likewise applauds her stewardship in the preservation of the Marianas-native Ifil tree on campus during the Nov. 13, 2023 ceremonial Ifil-tree planting at UOG’s President Grove.
The resolution noted that the planting of the hardwood tree is the epitome of the passion and commitment by Dr. Borja-Enriquez in caring for and nurturing the young Ifil tree — the same passion and commitment the she has applied over time in helping the youth successfully matriculate at the university as its senior vice president and provost, and the cumulative experience and skill-sets the new UOG president is expected to perform for the youth of the Marianas and Micronesia so they can receive the best and well-rounded higher education.
AMIM describes Dr. Borja-Enriquez as a woman who is determined and strongly rooted in the cultural traditions and heritage of the people of the Mariana Islands, and someone who practices the CHamoru cultural traditions of Inadahi, Inina, Na’I Animu, and Inafa’maolek.
