Noting that only over 1,500 responses were gathered in the recent survey conducted by the school system’s Instructional Technology and Distance Education Program, Tenorio said PSS will have to conduct new surveys to provide a more solid basis for the next move toward hybrid learning instruction.
PSS has over 9,000 students who will have to adapt to new learning methods to protect themselves from the Covid-19 infection, she said.
“Conducting the surveys is a positive thing because we need to know,” Tenorio said.

As for students who have not registered in the new school year, Tenorio said: “We need to encourage the parents, guardians. They can come to school or register their child through email, over the phone and there is also social media they can use. It is the law — you must register your kid.”
She said the Student Attendance Review Committee or SARC will look into this issue.
“It is critical that parents register their children either online or face-to-face,” she reiterated. “What we need to see are families coming in to register their kids just like they would for regular school days.”
SARC coordinator Robert L. Coldeen III said the committee is now monitoring student attendance in both remote and face-to-face classes.
