He said the fuel adjustment charge will remain $0.12397 per kWh in September.
CUC was notified by Mobil Oil Mariana Islands Inc. that there has been a slight decrease in the Mean of Platts Singapore monthly pricing from August to September, Camacho said.
However, the decrease did not equal or exceed a 4.5% differential of the average per gallon cost of fuel.
The fuel adjustment charge is one of the two components that make up the CUC electric kWh rate, which is used to purchase fuel.
The other component is the base rate, which is used to fund operations, projects, and debt service.
Since April 17, 2014 there has been no increase in the base rate, which is $0.0210 per kWh for 1 to 350 kWhs of power consumption for residential customers; $0.1130 for commercial customers; and $0.1240 for government accounts.
CUC is allowed to adjust the fuel adjustment charge when the Mean of Platts Singapore monthly pricing equals or exceeds a 4.5% differential of the average per gallon cost of fuel.
