At San Vicente Elementary School, vice principal Ana Guerrero in an email told parents and students that morning online classes were canceled, but face-to-face classes will resume in the afternoon once power was restored at school.
Dandan Middle School “put on hold” its online classes. DMS principal James Ada informed students and parents: “If the power is restored during regular scheduled class time, we will resume classes. Stay safe as we wait for the power to be restored.”
For their part, private schools, which have been providing online and face-to-face instruction since September, turned on their generators to avoid disrupting classes.
In a statement, CUC said the power outage was caused by a “short circuit on the electrical panel for the radiator on Engine No. 1.” This caused two engines to also trip, CUC added.

CUC said its power plant electricians were able to make the necessary repairs to re-energize the feeder circuits as of 10:28 a.m. for full restoration.
Water service to the areas of Papago, Upper San Vicente, Gualo Rai, Upper MIHA, China Town, As Terlaje, Middle Road, Beach Road, Chalan Laulau up to the Gualo Rai intersection and As Falape was restored after 3 p.m., Thursday, Variety learned.
