Majesty Restaurant to offer free lunch, relief goods to unemployed

Majesty Restaurant and its partners are trying to do their part in helping those “who may be down on their luck” due to the pandemic, the restaurant management said.

The relief program will be held every Sunday from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. and will be extended for as long as possible this year, the management added.

“Those out of work are encouraged to register first with their name and contact information. Once registered, you will receive an email and/or text message confirmation details of your scheduled pickup,” Majesty Restaurant said.

Majesty Restaurant has been a popular “go-to” place for family celebrations and business functions.

“The CNMI has been very good to us for 30 years. This is our way of giving back,” the restaurant management stated.

The restaurant noted that its relief program falls on the Labor Day weekend, “which pays tribute to the contributions of the workforce.”

“All the meals are going out to people affected,” Majesty Restaurant stated. “If you’re without a job, you’re without pay and without food we encourage you to register.”

“The Covid-19 outbreak has dealt a massive blow to the tourism industry, with the pandemic bringing travel to a standstill,” the restaurant stated.

Over 11,000 residents have applied for unemployment assistance.
