AT a meeting of the Rotary Club of Saipan, Commonwealth Bureau of Military Affairs Administrative Assistant Coryn Achas announced that CBMA is partnering with the military to bring a medical mission to Saipan, Tinian, and Rota at no cost to patients from July 11 to 20.
The event is called the Innovative Readiness Training Wellness Mission 2023.
Achas said military medical personnel will be on island to provide health care exams, optometry services, and dentistry services.
They will also provide behavioral health and general health public education.
Achas said this mission is funded by the Department of Defense and patients will not have to pay any money for the treatment they receive.
Treatment is given on a “first come, first served” basis, according to Achas. Hours of operation are from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Achas said patients do not need insurance to take part in the services. But patients should bring their identification with them to the mission.
On Saipan, the mission will take place at the Commonwealth Healthcare Corporation Medical Care and Treatment Site.
On Tinian, the mission will be held on the campus of Tinian Junior/Senior High School.
On Rota, the mission site is the Rota Health Center.
Achas said veterinary services will be a part of the medical mission.
The Saipan Mayor’s Office Animal Shelter will be the venue for the veterinarian services. Veterinarian services are tentatively scheduled on Tinian and Rota, but locations are still to be determined, CBMA said.
Achas said lodging and transportation are scheduled to be provided by community partners, but CBMA is still seeking volunteers to assist with carrying out the mission. She requested support from the Rotary Club and said she is open to other community members and organizations partnering with CBMA.
CBMA’s phone number is (670) 488-0220.
