Businessman provides help to furloughed workers

Reyes, who operates Gold Crown Manpower and Holy Angel Day Care, said: “This is the time when we should help one another by sharing our resources and blessings with those who need help,” said Reyes, founder and president of the Marianas Association for Humanitarian Affairs or MAHAL.

“It is important that we look into the needs of those who have lost their income,” he said, adding that he also plans to lend money to his furloughed employees who can repay it when they return to work.

After Super Typhoon Yutu slammed into Saipan and Tinian, Reyes provided each of his workers $50.

He said he will soon meet, via videoconference, other MAHAL members to discuss how their group can extend assistance to other furloughed workers.
