Authored by Rep. Antonio SN Borja, H.L.B. 21-39 is now Tinian Local Law 21-11.
The amount appropriated by the measure came from the remaining funds from the $1.7 million allotted by Public Law 20-59 to Tinian. These funds, according to P.L. 20-59, “were suspended over the years for the purposes of providing much needed resources to entities that were in more need during the Commonwealth’s tough economic times.”
On May 11, 2018, the governor “found no more need to suspend such funds.”
The new local law stated that the Finance secretary has certified that there is $800,000 in amusement machine license fees available for appropriation for Tinian in fiscal year 2020.
