“Blame it all on Covid-19,” he added.
“Our transfer out of the Horiguchi Building won’t be until June or July because of pandemic delays in our own preparations to occupy the new courthouse,” Bezzant said in an email to Variety on Monday.

He said the dedication ceremony originally planned for July 13 is “impossible due to travel risks and restrictions for the off-island dignitaries.”
He added, “Our current goal is to have a dedication ceremony by the end of this year or in January 2021…all depending on the course of the pandemic.”
The offices of the U.S. Attorney for the Districts of Guam and NMI, the U.S. Marshal Service, and U.S. Probation will also occupy the three-story building.
In addition, it will have two judge’s chambers, and a jury assembly room.
The groundbreaking ceremony for the new courthouse was held on Dec. 7, 2017.
The U.S. General Services Administration awarded a 20-year lease, worth approximately $2.4 million annually, to Marianas Management Corp., a subsidiary of J.C. Tenorio Enterprises for the new federal courthouse.
