Rota hasn’t decided on Liberation Day festivities

“It will depend on the result of the community-based [Covid-19] testing,” he said on Tuesday.

“Community members have been very cooperative and they have volunteered to take the test,” he added.

The tests were conducted at the Rota Health Center from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Monday and Tuesday.  On Saturday, there will be drive-thru tests at the Benjamin Taisacan Manglona International Airport from 7 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Individuals who want to take the test should register at https://governor.gov.mp/covid-19/testing/form/

Atalig said if test results show that their island remains Covid-19-free, then most business and government activities will resume, but members of the public will continue to comply with social distancing rules and wear face masks in public.

The offices of the mayor and other municipal agencies are now open to serve the public, but only from 7:30 a.m. to 12 noon on workdays.
