Joeten-Kiyu Public Library to host summer reading program

(JKPL) — Mark your calendars for this summer’s reading program: All Together Now! The Joeten-Kiyu Public Library is excited to bring you a world of activities, program, and reading challenges!

Activities include: Reading Challenge! STEM related activities, arts and crafts, presentations from organizations and Community partners!

The Children’s Summer Reading Program is open to patrons ages 6-12 with valid library cards. Registration is required (1 per child), and runs from Wednesday May 31, 2023 to Saturday, June 3, 2023 or until spots are filled. Seating is limited! Register Wednesday to Friday, 10:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. and Saturday, 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.

JKPL summer schedule

• Session A: Ages 6 – 8 (Tuesday – Friday, June 6 – 16, from 8:30 a.m. – 11:30 a.m.)

• Session B: Ages 9 – 12 (Tuesday – Friday, June 6 – 16, from 8:30 a.m. – 11:30 a.m.)

For many pre-readers and their families, the Joeten-Kiyu Public Library is offering free access to age-appropriate programs, resources, and expertise to our community. 

The Early Literacy Summer Reading Program is available for parents or guardians to include their youngest children-starting with newborns — from birth to age 5.  Registration is required!

Parents or guardians must have a valid library card to participate. Participants will receive an Early Literacy activity log, which will need to be completed to earn an awesome prize.

Teens and adults can also participate in the Summer Reading Program! Interested participants (ages 13 and up) valid library cards should register at the Front Circulation.  You’ll receive a reading log, which you will need to complete to earn awesome prizes! In addition, be sure to check out our monthly calendars, which contain many fun and exciting programs and activities just for the ages 13 and up!
