The well-attended outreach provided the people the opportunity to learn more about health programs and to avail themselves of these services.
These included blood pressure readings, blood glucose (sugar) test (Accu Check), information on COTA and its sliding fees, fire safety tips, integrated behavioral health services, assisting patients in obtaining Medicare cards with the newly implemented MBI, and the screening of the oral cancer documentary, “Chew.” The village outreach also provided an opportunity for the CCA to inform the community about the upcoming 2020 Marianas March Against Cancer event.

The major focuses of the outreach were to respond to immediate individual health and wellness needs; to provide opportunities for the people to learn more about the CCA and its partners’ programs and services; and to involve residents at the village-level in the discussion of ideas and recommendations on how we can better address health and wellness in the community.
The CCA is currently developing plans for the 3rd Health & Wellness Village Outreach scheduled for Wednesday, March 25, 2020 from 4:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. at the Carolinian Utt with partners who are continuing to make a difference in the health and wellness of the community.
