The members of the GMS team are Joseph Victor Jimenez, Areeza Gaile Anda, Danielle Nicole Sacramento, Chealzka Navarro, and John Edsel Hinolan
Among the 11 public and private schools that participated, GMS ranked third, tied with Hopwood Middle School and Agape Christian Schol during the first half of the competition.
GMS was qualified to compete in the final round with four other schools and afterward, the team members went head to head with other students.
It looked like as if the team was going to win during the difficult round because it remained on top, but the tide turned near the end of the competition. GMS finished second, just 10 points behind ACS which won the championship.
Nevertheless, the GMS family is proud of these middle school students for bringing honor and prestige to their school. This is so far, the highest achievement GMS has had in a statewide Academic Challenge Bowl. Last year, GMS placed fourth in the same event.
