Monde, 28, clocked 2:33:12. Finishing second was last year’s champion, 41-year-old Yoshiyuki Ono, who timed in at 2:40:39.
The rest of the top six finishers in the full marathon of the men’s division were Ryan Matienzo, 2:43:05; Mamoru Nagata, 2:46:06; Takashi Hanashima, 2:51:17; and Masaya Abe, 2:56:16.
In the full marathon-women’s division, Tomomi Nakajima finished first, clocking 2:54:41. She was followed by Naomi Washizu who came in at 3:13:39. Heather Taylor was third with a time of 3:24:00; Maki Narita was fourth, 3:30:05; Ruri Wakamatsu was fifth, 3:31:56; and Yuko Moto was sixth, 3:37:50.
In the men’s division of the half marathon, Kazuaki Okamoto was first with a time of 1:14:16. Yuki Uchiyama was second, 1:14:32; Derek Mendell was third, 1:17:33; Shintaro Natsume was fourth, 1:18:20; Samuel Smith was fifth, 1:25:08; and Peter Blas was sixth, 1:41:46.
In the women’s division of the half marathon, Manami Ijima finished first with a time of 1:28:20. The rest of the top six were Marina Matsuura, second, 1:31:57; Akiko Miller, third 1:49:33; Kimiko Mckagan, fourth, 1:57:09; Heather Popa, fifth, 1:57:35; and Keiko Nakakarumai, sixth,1:58:49.
