THE NMI’s La Hunn Lam lost to Australia’s Ayaan Chowhary in a Boys Singles 18 match of the Oceania Tennis Federation’s J30 Lautoka 2023 Tennis Tournament in Lautoka, Fiji.
Lam won the first set, 7-5, but Chowhary fought back in the second, which he won, 6-2.
In the third and final set, Lam could not continue. He had to retire and take the loss, 0-5.
Today, Thursday, Lam will be paired with Papua New Guinea’s Sugar-Ray Hakena to face Australia’s George Anderson and Aryan Karnani in the Boys Doubles 18 main draw.
In the recently held Pacific Oceania Junior Championships, also in Lautoka, Lam topped the Boys Singles 14 event and, with Nason Wessel, the Boys Doubles 14 event.
