The $1.5 million, 90-day contract with Aggreko was signed in December.
The temporary electric power supply was supposed to be on island on Jan. 16, but the shipping schedule indicates that it will arrive on Jan. 21 and will be online four days later, Camacho said.
He said the public utility has met the permitting requirement of various regulatory agencies for the installation of the temporary power supply near Power Plant 1 in Lower Base.
Camacho said the temporary power supply will allow CUC to overhaul and repair its generators and engines.
Aggreko will produce 12 megawatts, but its equipment can generate up to 15 megawatts, which will provide CUC with reserve or standby power, he said.
