Gov. Arnold I. Palacios greets U.S. Department of the Interior Secretary Deb Haaland as she arrives for a visit to the CNMI on Thursday.
GOVERNOR Arnold I. Palacios and Lt. Gov. David M. Apatang welcomed U.S. Department of the Interior Secretary Deb Haaland and Assistant Interior Secretary for Insular and International Affairs Carmen G. Cantor at the Francisco C. Ada/Saipan International Airport on Thursday.
The federal officials are here to meet with Palacios and Apatang and conduct site visits throughout the island.
The governor told reporters that he and Apatang greeted Haaland and Cantor on behalf of the people of the Commonwealth. The U.S. officials, he said, flew in from Honolulu, Hawaii.
This morning, Friday, Haaland and Palacios will make brief remarks to the media before they hold their closed-door meeting.
